One in nine (11%) Canadian women is expected to develop breast cancer during her lifetime (this means by age 90).
Only one in every 28 Canadian women will die from breast cancer. This means that about two-thirds of the women diagnosed with breast cancer in Canada will live through it.
If breast cancer is found at an early stage there is usually a better chance of successful treatment. Finding cancer early may allow for more treatment options such as less aggressive treatment or breast conserving surgery.
Marcie’s enthusiasm and strength drew me in right away! Her presentation reminded me of something incredibly important: we do have the power to control our attitudes and thoughts about our experiences. Marcie's presentation was excellent, and her message was extremely valuable and empowering.

Marcie was engaging, impactful, and has a way of reaching her listeners that is exceptionally rare. While her story is one that could easily be filled with sadness and fear, Marcie invites you to explore her journey with her in a way that only encourages deeper self-reflection and hope. She was an absolute pleasure to have, and her command of her audience was masterful. Marcie can have you laughing or crying in the same sentence. I would highly recommend taking the time to hear her story, and it comes with a valuable message as well as a few laughs. She was simply wonderful!
