One in nine (11%) Canadian women is expected to develop breast cancer during her lifetime (this means by age 90).
Only one in every 28 Canadian women will die from breast cancer. This means that about two-thirds of the women diagnosed with breast cancer in Canada will live through it.
If breast cancer is found at an early stage there is usually a better chance of successful treatment. Finding cancer early may allow for more treatment options such as less aggressive treatment or breast conserving surgery.
“For those of us who have been terrorized by the "death sentence”, the "big C", this book captures our innermost fears and expresses them in a
vulnerable, defiant and outrageously funny manner. Warts and all, the "stick" bares her heart and her soul and shares her terrifying ride on the cancer express. A journal of pain and anguish, and ultimately of love and hope.”

Everyone whose life has been touched by breast cancer - or any cancer (like me) - should read this book. Thank you for sharing your story, Marcie! It will be an inspiration to many people!”

“You’re so funny. I want to start every day with a chapter. Honestly, I’ve never read anything that makes me laugh out loud while the tears are flowing. It seems so wrong, yet it’s just so right. I can’t wait for the rest of the world to experience that feeling.”
- Ceri Lamplugh
